Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace
For those that are looking for an article that describes everything wrong with this movie, your going to the wrong guy. What your going to get is my personal opinion of this film.
Star Wars Episode 1, The Phantom Menace. This film was the start of the supposedly ending for George Lucas. Let’s go back to 1999. This film has a lot of anticipation. Every Star Wars fan is waiting to be the first to see this. What did everyone think? Some people loved it and some said that this was a pile of garbage. I was in the fifth grade when this came out. At that age, I like this movie. How is it now?
I’m not going detail over the story because this article is going to be too long. So here’s a brief synopsis for those living under a rock. Two jedis, Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-wan Kenobi are traveling to another city planet to stop taxation while escorting Queen Amidala. They land on Tatooine and come across a young Anakin Skywalker (the future Darth Vader). The rest is a complex story of impending war and a rising evil.
Did I have fun with this movie? Yeah. Coming back to this movie again, I returned to an age of fun science fiction. I loved this when I was a kid, and I still like this as an adult. But are there problems? Yes
The biggest? Just three words; Jar Jar Binks. He is the most annoying, racist, unnecessary character in any movie. Any Star Wars fan would sell his soul to get rid of this guy. I wouldn’t go that far. What he needed was better writing. There is a whole galaxy of things that the fans can identify that I can’t.
What I do enjoy is the imagination that George Lucas has with this universe. So let’s cut this short, because if your reading this, chances are you’re a fan of Star Wars.
I'll give the first of many 4 out of 5 Darth Mauls. We definetly have a future with these Star Wars Rereleases. If your a fan, your definetly gonna see this before I tell you to.
